SEPTEMBER marks the annual Etal Horticultural Show, one of the oldest small village shows in the county to be still thriving and flourishing.
Commonly known to locals as "Etal Flower Show", or even just "The Show", this traditional event is now held every year on the first Sunday in September. It takes place in a large marquee, opposite the Tillside cricket pitch. The marquee is set out with tables and display boards, which exhibit the entries in over 150 different competitive classes:
Vegetables, fruits, flowers, baking, jams and preserves, needlework, handicrafts, photography, dressed walking sticks and children's section.
